Carolingian Art and Architecture, undated

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 50

Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

Bibliographic materials, notes, and manuscripts. Most appear to have been intended for an unpublished book, a draft title of which was "The Emergence of the Sense of Christendom in Early Medieval Gaul: Europe in Embryo, A.D. 500-900." An outline indicates that the work was to include sections on late Roman Gaul, the era of Clovis, the later Merovingian period, and the Carolingians. Daly's folder titles often use "Europe" as a shorthand reference to this project. Lecture notes, articles, and conference papers on the topic were found interfiled with chapter drafts and have been left in place.
