Boland's congressional campaign materials. The majority of the files concern the 1968 campaign in which Boland was challenged by Springfield Mayor Charles V. Ryan amidst the controversy of the Springfield Armory closure. Materials include clippings, correspondence, legislative profiles, issue research, voting records, strategic planning memos, constituent information, campaign contributions and expenditures, opponent research, photographs, bumper stickers, posters, and other ephemera. Senator Edward M. ("Ted") Kennedy appears in a variety of photographs from Boland's 1968 campaign.
