Contains materials on two of the more prominent initiatives of Margaret Heckler's tenure at the Department of Health and Human Services: the National Initiative on Technology and the Disabled and the Task Force on Black and Minority Health. Materials related to the National Initiative on Technology and the Disabled include background materials, briefings, correspondence, memos, photographs, press releases, reports, and speeches and remarks. Some of the files include materials from the Paris Air Show in 1985 where the National Initiative on Technology and the Disabled was featured. Collection is open for research. Fundraising materials that name donors and donation amounts are closed, as are political patronage files that include resumes and letters of recommendation.
