Scope and Contents

Correspondence received by Alper. While content is mostly of a personal nature, it does also contain some letters regarding his military service and employment prior to Boston College. Includes war correspondence from Ethel Alper; letters from Alper's father and brothers concerning the family business, Morris Alper and Sons; Alper's military and United Nations service; and later personal letters, often addressed to both Ethel and Benedict. Further, a small amount of correspondence from Benedict Alper to his brothers David and Mark is found with these materials.

Collection is open for research. Audio recordings on cassette have been digitally copied; all original media were retained, but may not be played due to format. Digital use copies can only be accessed in the Burns Library Reading Room. Audio recordings on reel are not available for playback due to format impermanence and can not be reformatted by Burns Library at this time. Please let Burns Library Public Services know of your specific interest; when it becomes possible we will schedule reformatting.
