Definition and use
A clergy shirt is a shirt worn by members of the clergy of the Catholic Church. The most common type of clergy shirt is the tab collar shirt or the Roman shirt. The tab collar shirt has a high collar with a square opening in the front, where a small, stiff white collar can be tucked. Priests usually wear a black shirt, while bishops wear red or purple.
