The Handmaid of Desire early drafts ("Olga"), 1972 - 1991
Scope and Contents
Materials reflect L'Heureux's method of writing a complete novel first draft and then working through the chapters start to finish, revising each chapter until he was satisfied with it. This was sometimes followed by a less significant re-revising of the whole work. Materials also include the publisher's copy of the typescript with copy edits, and proofs returned by the publisher to L'Heureux after the book was released. All of L'Heureux's drafts are in typescript. Two unpublished novels are included, "Casa Sayonara" and "Lies".
