Cavett, Dick, 1975
Scope and Contents
Kent starts off the interview asking Cavett why he thinks his ABC show went off the air. He responds saying probably because ABC didn't make enough money off of it, having to do with the station lineup, not knowing how to sell the show or present it to promotional media. He discusses flaws in the Neilsen ratings; other talk shows; thoughts about what he might do next, such as movies, or a college tour. Discussion of interviewing and the different types of interviewees. Kent asks whether he has plans to act or direct. Continued discussion of his show, his early career big break courtesy of Jack Paar at NBC, and more on television in general.
