One of the first weddings Rivers served as the celebrant and the last wedding that he was the celebrant: 1) the June 1964 wedding of his first cousin Joseph Echols, Jr. to Linda Jackson, a solemn high mass at Saint Anthony Church, West End in Cincinnati; and 2) the wedding of his niece Christa Lorraine Rivers to Enrique Caceres on August 7, 2004 at Saint Malachy Church in the Theater District, New York City.
