Scope and Contents
Contains correspondence between student officials of BLSA and Howe, programs for events put on by the Association, and minutes for joint meetings with the Black Alumni Network. Includes materials from BLSA participation in the Frederick Douglas Moot Court Competition in the early 1980s and again in 2002. Also includes some financial records, as Howe served as treasurer following her retirement from Boston College Law School.

Historical Note: Black Law Students Association
The Association, originally called the Black American Law Students Association, was the Boston College chapter of the National Black Law Students Association, an organization founded in 1968, with a mission "to increase the number of culturally responsible Black and minority attorneys who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community."
