Scope and Contents

Writings and notes consists of research notes, manuscript drafts, typescripts, carbon copies, clippings, and proofs for Goldstein’s writings, including articles, books, lectures and speeches, pamphlets, and other publications. Topics consist of Judaism, Catholic teachings, labor issues, and Anti-Socialist arguments. Included are full and partial drafts of several of Goldstein’s books, including What Say You?; Jewish Panorama; Letters, Hebrew-Catholic, to Mr. Isaacs; and multiple drafts of his unpublished work, Political Economy. Also included are notes by Goldstein on Martha Moore Avery's class, titled "Political Economy", which are unrelated to his unfinished manuscript. It also contains cards and typescripts from the Question and Answer segment of Goldstein's meetings and lectures.

Additionally, this subseries contains drafts of writings by other authors, such as speeches about Goldstein, the constitution of the Social Club of Massachusetts, and a resolution of the Socialist Party.
