The public relations and newspaper clippings subseries is composed of the operational files of the CCC’s office of public relations, collected newsletters and publications on general desegregation issues, and a large number of clippings regarding school desegregation in Boston and the desegregation activities of the CCC. The operational files of the office of public relations include press releases, correspondence with the public and local media outlets, as well as materials from the ad hoc committee on public information.

This series is arranged in three sub-subseries: 1. Administration records; 2. Newsletters and other publications; and 3. Newspaper clippings. The administration records and newsletters and other publications sub-subseries are arranged alphabetically and chronologically. Maintaining the original order imposed by the staff of the public relations department of the CCC, the materials in the newspaper clippings sub-subseries have been arranged first chronologically, followed by subject files arranged alphabetically.

Collection is open for research; portions are available digitally. A small number of materials are closed due to privacy restrictions.

One audio cassette has been digitally copied; the original media was retained, but may not be played due to format. Digital use copies can only be accessed in the Burns Library Reading Room.
