Custodial History

Many of the recordings on CD in this collection were transferred by Ted McGraw from original audio reels and phonograph discs, both published and homemade. Some of the originals are also included in this collection; the majority are in the Ted McGraw collection at the Ward Irish Music Archives. McGraw made transfers to CD from his own extensive collection of Irish music recordings, which he also featured on his weekly radio show, "Irish Party House" (WGMC and WXXI, 1974-2017), and from recordings owned by others. He regularly gifted or sold the CDs at cost in order to increase access to historic recordings of Irish music performances.
