Lyric Book, circa 1900-1938

 Sub-Series

Scope and Contents

The lyric book is a small black notebook containing lyrics for songs performed by McCormack in concert. McCormack used the book as a prop while performing and to help him remember the lyrics of the songs. There are a total of 72 leaves, including one that is loosely placed in between two bound-in leaves. Some lyrics are typescript, some have handwritten annotations (likely McCormack’s), and some are exclusively handwritten.
