From the Collection:

Materials related to the history of Boston collected by Ellerton J. Brehaut. Consists of correspondence, manuscripts, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, account books, publications, and reports of the City of Boston and other institutions. Brehaut's annotated scrapbooks of pamphlets and newspaper clippings from 1800 to the 1960s document the mayors of Boston, particularly James Michael Curley, the Chamber of Commerce, the great Boston fire of 1872 and its administrative aftermath, Protestantism, and the 1919 police strike and the Police Department.
