This collection contains papers related to the life and religious service of Walter F. Hyland, SJ. It includes correspondence from Hyland, primarily his annual Christmas letter; photographs; materials from his golden jubilee celebration as a Jesuit (1970) and as a Priest (1983); a printed copy of a letter he wrote to the Boston College class of 1922 on its fiftieth anniversary; other printed materials, including cards commemorating the celebration of Hyland's first mass and pamphlets on Jesuit missions and the Filipino Jesuit community; Hyland's death certificate; and clippings related to the liberation of the Philippines and Father Hyland's release from a Japanese internment camp.
