Biographical note: Joseph M. Curley
Joseph M. Curley was born on April 8, 1864, to Martin and Margaret (Campbell) Curley in Chelsea, Massachusetts. He attended Chelsea High School and Boston University Law School. He served as Clerk of the Police Court of Chelsea from 1897-1922, and Clerk of the Chelsea District Court from 1922-1932. He was also a Justice of the Peace of Massachusetts from 1904-1925, and the first exalted ruler of the Chelsea Lodge of Elks. Curley died after a short illness on May 25, 1932.
