Scope and Contents
Memorandum book of the Boston Brass Band compiled by S. S. Pearce, listing performances, venues, names of musicians, and amounts paid in 1837. The Band played at venues in New England, including Faneuil Hall and Boston Common, and at parades, military musters, and funerals. The second part of the book records an Atlantic sea voyage taken in August 1838.

Historical note
The Boston Brass Band was formed in 1835 when part of the Boston Brigade Band merged with the Green Dragon Band. It played numerous civic engagements until its dissolution in 1861.
