Some of the material relates to the Aid for Families with Dependent Children Program. Includes correspondence and other materials of directors Barry Bluestone and Paul Schervish, as well as letters of the Institute of Human Services and the Office of Research Administration at Boston College.

Biographical / Historical

The Social Welfare Regional Research Institute at Boston College was founded in 1970 by the U. S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare. In 1972 it became a unit of the University, and in 1979 its name changed to the Social Welfare Research Institute. Institute staff study the spiritual dimensions of everyday life, especially in regard to economic relations.
