Biographical / Historical
The Social Welfare Regional Research Institute at Boston College was founded in 1970 by the U. S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare. In 1972 it became a unit of the University, and in 1979 its name changed to the Social Welfare Research Institute. Institute staff study the spiritual dimensions of everyday life, especially in regard to economic relations.
