Bound manuscript of 462 pages, written in a single hand, in cursive script. Title page printed in red and black from individually inked handle letters, fillet wheels, and fleurons, some of which were also used on the binding. Pages [2]-[19] at end are ruled but contain no text. Pages ruled in red. The text derives from printed editions of this work, published from 1641 on, with some abridgements, especially in later passages. Possibly written by Pierre Coton, since printed editions include his Office de la Vierge Marie. The identity of the scribe named Vauguez has not been determined. A French lieutenant-colonel Jean-Baptiste d'Etienne de Vauguez was stationed at Luneville in the 1750s.

Contained in the pocket at back is a hand-painted prayer card with printed text: Souvenir de ma premiere communion solennelle faite en l'Eglise du Saint-Esprit Oran le 19 mai 1938. Bernard de Lostau.
