Sixteen-page manuscript fair copy of a letter from King Charles III of Spain to Pope Clement XIII on the expulsion of the Jesuits from the Spanish Empire. Dated at end of last page: Aranjuez, 2 de mayo de 1767. Written in ink on laid paper in a gathering of four bifolia.

Biographical note

Spanish sovereign. Charles III was King of Spain from 1759 to 1788. During his reign, he expelled the Jesuits from the Spanish Empire.
