Biographical note: Paul C. Haley
Paul C. Haley was born in Hyde Park, Massachusetts, in 1926, and moved to Weymouth in 1954. He graduated from Boston Boys Latin School in 1945 and Boston College Law School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and worked for over 50 years in the printing ink industry. In his spare time, he served many years as the corresponding secretary for the Donegal Club of Greater Boston, and regularly played bodhrán at local Irish... music sessions. Haley married Margaret T. (Dougherty), and they had 16 children: Dermit, Erin, Paul, Cormac, Brigid, Aedan, Marykate, Megan, Grainne, Alanna, Sean, Maire, Mara, Hugh, Conal, and Padraic. Paul Haley died on December 3, 2018.

Biographical note: Billy Caples
William T. "Billy" Caples was a musician and teacher of Irish music, who played with several Boston-area bands, such as Johnny Powell's Orchestra, as well as his own, the Billy Caples Orchestra. He was a cofounder of two Irish music societies in Boston, Ceol traidisiúnta na hÉireann and a branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, the Hanafin-Cooley branch (later renamed the Reynolds-Hanafin-Cooley branch). As a teacher, he instructed many players of... traditional Irish accordion music in the Boston area.
Caples studied at the Berklee College of Music, served with the US Army in Guam during World War II, and worked for 32 years at the Steele Canvas Basket Co. Inc. in Cambridge, MA. He was inducted to Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Hall of Fame by The Northeast Region of the North American Province posthumously on February 21, 1998. Caples died on July 9, 1986.

Paul Haley's order maintained. The music was originally in two three-ring binders, one blue and one green. The contents of each binder correspond to one archival folder.
