These early records contain correspondence on legislative issues of general concern to constituents from O'Neill's district. Beginning with the 83rd Congress (1953), O'Neill's first term as a congressman, the material traces critical issues of the time from atomic energy to water fluoridation. Included are acknowledgements and background material. Arranged alphabetically by subject within each congress, it is possible to trace an issue over several years.
