Ardbawn: a bit of Ireland fifty years ago, typescript
A fictionalized account of events witnessed by the author during his youth of a "particular locality in the South of Ireland during the Agrarian uprising between the years 1880 and 1890." Ardbawn (or Ardbaun) is a townland of the civil parish of Thurles in County Tipperary. Mention is also made of the tenants working the land in Rosscarbery in County Cork.

The M.J. MacManus papers consist mostly of letters from various correspondents written to MacManus. Many concern MacManus's duties as editor of the Irish Press. The dates range from 1849 to 1951, with the bulk of the letters between 1934 and 1942. There is also a draft of a poem by Francis Ledwidge.
