The Samuel Beckett collection at the John J. Burns Library is composed of seven distinct collections of Beckett-related material including manuscripts and typescripts by Beckett, correspondence with Beckett, ephemera, photographs, and publications by and about Beckett.

Collection of materials concerning the life and work of early twentieth-century Catholic British author and artist G. K. Chesterton. Included are correspondence, drawings, ephemera, writings, and materials about Chesterton.

The collection consists of a bound manuscript and two letters all in Dunsany's hand. The manuscript contains thirty-four of Dunsany's poems and his play The Tent of the Arabs. The poems were originally written from 1917 through 1940 and largely relate to the subjects of the first and second World War. He presented the handwritten anthology to the Red Cross in 1940.

These papers document the friendship and scholarly relationship between twentieth-century Catholic authors Jim Forest and Thomas Merton. The papers contain Merton's correspondence, manuscripts, and photographs. Forest's papers include his own manuscripts, most on Merton or their mutual friend Dorothy Day, correspondence with others regarding Merton, newspaper clippings, articles, and a recording of a lecture he gave on Merton.

Yeats; their father, John Butler Yeats; and the wife of W. B., Georgie Yeats. It also documents the running of Cuala Press, a Yeats family business.
