American Conference for Irish Studies
The American Conference for Irish Studies, formerly the American Committee for Irish Studies, held its first conference in December 1961. It was created as an interdisciplinary scholarly organization dedicated to promoting the study of Ireland and the Irish. Its name change occurred in 1987.
