Biography
Established in 1957 by Francis Sweeney, SJ, the Lowell Humanities Series has brought distinguished writers, artists, performers, and scholars to Boston College.
The series has included inaugural speaker Robert Frost, T.S. Eliot, W.H. Auden, Alec Guinness, e.e. cummings, Robert Penn Warren, John Dos Passos, Joyce Carol Oates, Seamus Heaney, James Reston, Julian Bond, and Maya Angelou.
