Biographical note
William M. Stinson, SJ, was born in Charlestown, MA on August 20, 1876. He attended Boston College High School, Boston College, Frederick College, Woodstock College, and Tullamore College. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1894, was ordained in 1910, and took his final vows in 1915. He held teaching and administrative positions at Loyola College, Baltimore, and St. Joseph's College, Philadelphia, as well as serving as a chaplain with the United States Army during World War I. He came to Boston College in 1920, where he taught classics and became the librarian. Stinson died on March 21, 1935.
