Biographical note

Joseph Robert Fahey Jr. was born on July 22, 1936 in Brighton, Massachusetts to parents Joseph Fahey and Mary Regan. Following his ordination into the priesthood in 1968, Fahey served two years as an assistant professor of economics at College of the Holy Cross. He then held the position of dean of academics for the next decade. Fahey was a member of the board of trustees for Boston College from 1972-1979, and was elected vice president of academics and dean of faculties in 1982. From 1988-1998, Fahey was president of Boston College High School. Fahey died on January 16, 2002.
