American artist. John La Farge was an American artist known for his stained glass works in churches.

John La Farge letter to Anna Seaton-Schmidt, 1907 February 24: manuscript
One-page letter written in ink on a sheet of John La Farge's letterhead, in which La Farge apologizes for failing to call on Seaton-Schmidt during his recent visit to Washington. With a typewritten paragraph on John La Farge, used as an exhibit tombstone.

These papers cover the personal life and scholarly work of Edward S. Stanton, SJ (1916-1983), a faculty member in Boston College’s Theology Department. Much of the collection deals with Stanton’s relationship and scholarship relating to John La Farge, SJ (1880-1963), who was an advocate for interracial justice. Materials include Stanton's manuscripts, photographs, publications, retreat notes, speeches, and sermons, as well as some of La Farge’s writings.
