Biographical note
Mike Lupica was born on May 11, 1952, in Oneida, New York. From 1970-1974, Lupica attended Boston College, where he wrote for The Heights and freelanced for various publications. He began his newspaper career covering the New York Knicks for the New York Post and became the youngest columnist at a New York paper with the New York Daily News in 1977. In the 1980s, Lupica began writing the column "Shooting From the Lip" in the Sunday News. He co-wrote autobiographies with Reggie Jackson and Bill Parcells, collaborated with William Goldman, and wrote nonfiction works. In addition, he has written a number of novels, including Dead Air (1986), which was nominated for the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best First Mystery. Over the years Lupica has been a regular on television and radio programs and a TV anchor for ESPN's The Sports Reporters.
