Biographical Note
Multi-instrumentalist Dale Russ began playing Irish fiddle in 1973 when he moved from his native Connecticut to attend Evergreen College in Olympia, Washington. He settled in the Pacific Northwest, becoming a music teacher, performer, and composer. In Seattle he formed a long-standing collaboration with uilleann piper Tom Creegan, performing Irish music in bands such as The Suffering Gaels and Crumac. Russ's albums include two CDs of fiddle music that he recorded in the 1990s.

Interviews, 1990 March 26
Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin interviewing festival musicians Johnny McGreevy, Andy McGann, and Johnny Cronin, with a musical interlude by Dale Russ. They interviews include both conversation and performance. They were recorded in the Irish Room of the John J. Burns Library the day after the festival.
