Biographical note

William B. Neenan, SJ was appointed Vice President and Special Assistant to the President at Boston College in 1998 after having served as Academic Vice President and Dean of Faculties since 1987. Prior to 1987, Neenan served as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and as the University’s first Thomas I. Gasson, SJ Professor. Before joining Boston College, he taught economics at the University of Michigan. He also served as the director of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities from 1988 to 1994. Neenan died on June 25, 2014.
