Materials from Sweeney’s early life including monthly reports from St. Mary’s High School; College of Holy Cross rules and regulations; a letter of acceptance to the Society of Jesus; invitations and prayers cards for Sweeney’s ordination to the priesthood; passports; business cards and invitations; and news articles about Sweeney. This series also contains Sweeney’s diaries; a publications record; travel log; and a Cranwell Preparatory School Yearbook. In addition, this series contains materials relating to Sweeney’s family including family history; bookplates given in honor of Ellen McQuaid Sweeney; memorial cards for Joseph Gerard Sweeney; and Joseph Gerard Sweeney’s first communion scapular.
