Summary of an April 1966 Connaught Tribune series commemorating 1916 uprising, audio recording, 1975 August
Scope and Contents
Dr. Peggy M. Walsh of The Institute of Celtic Studies at Metropolitan State College, Denver, Colorado conducted an oral history project with Irish men and women who fought in conflicts from the Easter 1916 uprising until 1922. The interviews were arranged through a solicitation letter included by Government of Ireland with pension checks and conducted during a single trip to Ireland (July-August 1975).
Materials include correspondence with prospective and selected interviewees, interviewees' written memoirs shared with Walsh, audio recordings, and transcriptions of the recordings. Walsh kept individual files for respondents she either interviewed or who sent her typescript memoirs. Except where otherwise noted in the container list, the files include both correspondence and recorded interviews.
Walsh was Larkin's former student.
