Scope and Contents
The collection documents the Spring 1990 Boston College Irish fiddle festival called "My Love is in America," co-sponsored by the Boston College Music Department and Irish Studies Programs. Included are audio and video recordings, publicity and explanatory documents, and photographic materials. Audio recordings include musical portions of Sunday Mass, Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin's lecture on fiddle player Tommy Potts, sessions, the Sunday evening concert,... and interviews with fiddle players Johnny McGreevy, Andy McGann, Johnny Cronin, and Paddy Cronin. Videos capture the music promenade, festival concert, and interviews.
