Cronin discusses his family background and Gneeveguilla; and his first fiddle lesson and first lesson with Padraig O'Keefe. He plays the polka "The Munster Bank" that was the first tune he learned from O'Keefe. He then talks about O'Keefe and Dennis Murphy; teaching and learning; set dancing; arriving in the United States in 1949; living and working in Boston; his three years in Chicago; performers Eleanor Kane, Jimmy Neary, and Johnny McGreevy; the state of contemporary traditional Irish music in the United States; and musicians immigrating to the United States. He plays an untitled O'Carolan tune, an untitled reel by Paddy O'Brien, and "The Drunken Sailor". He discusses Tommie Potts; soul and the qualities of a good musician; and plays the dance tune "Maud Miller". He talks about playing Sliabh Luachra dance tunes and Eleanor Kane and then plays an untitled tune by Kane. He returns to discussing the contemporary music scenes in Boston, New York City, and San Francisco; the state of traditional music in Killarney; Tom Billy of Sliabh Luachra; economics in Ireland, especially around teaching; and more about the Sliabh Luachra musical tradition and returning there to live in 1990. He concludes with two untitled Sliabh Luachra tunes.
