Correspondence kept by Alice M. Grady, of the comptroller's office of the Boston and Maine Railroad, Boston, Massachusetts. She acted as principal representative of the Boston and Maine Railroad Group's Fund for the Archbishop's Charities, organized in 1947 to raise money from employees to be donated to Archbishop Richard Cushing for his various charitable causes. Prominent among these were the Rosary Radio Broadcast; funds for building churches at mental institutions; a senoir retirement community (Marian Village); the Carney Hospital fund; and unspecified other charitable funds. Correspondence includes ten letters from Cushing to the Fund (two signed), sixty letters from the Fund to Cushing, and additional letters from donors to the Fund.
