Academic and personal papers of twentieth century psychology and theology professor Joseph E. Shea, SJ, including correspondence, course notes, diaries, retreat notes, and sermons. Academic materials include notes and other writings from primary school through university and seminary study, as well as some materials from when Shea was a professor at Weston College. Correspondence is primarily with Shea's mother, Sarah Shea, and concerns his travels to Rome and elsewhere in Europe, as well as his discernment and ordination process. Materials relating to Shea's Jesuit life include retreat notes and sermons.
