Miller first recounts her childhood. Born in San Diego in 1935, her father was in the Navy, and she had two younger brothers. She also lived in Washington D.C. and Philadelphia. Went to Stanford to major in physics, and started climbing there with the Alpine Club. They went to the Sierras, and that got her hooked on climbing.

Miller recalls the timeline leading up to the Annapurna climb. She shares concerns she had about avalanches and was questioning whether they should have even proceeded. She also discusses the changing weather and wind conditions during the climb. She recounts in detail the day that she made it to the summit, along with Vera Komarkova and two sherpas. She shared that she immediately assumed the worst when they didn't receive any word over the radio from those who tried a summit attempt the following day. Miller says she works in computer modeling for IBM in San Jose; talks about her family and her own childhood.
