He mentions his films Quintet and A Perfect Couple. Then Alman discusses how he doesn't follow all the conventional ways of making films (e.g he records the sound to 8-track with each individual cast member wearing a mic; the pace of filmmaking; etc.)

In the recording, Ali discusses his one year expulsion from the Nation of Islam, a Broadway play production that he is currently taking part in, his anti-war stance and resulting current ban from boxing, and whether he thinks of his boxing career as in the past. The second tape side principally covers his following Elijah Muhammad, leader of the Nation of Islam.
