This series contains letters and enclosures both to and from Gill. Some student correspondence is in this series; however the bulk of those materials are located within the relevant institution’s Series V subseries.
Notable correspondents included in this series are Boston College sociology professor Benedict Alper; a three-way conversation between Gill, Robert (Bob) Crosswhite, a North Carolina criminologist, and Jean Kane Foulke DuPont, a Delaware-based... philanthropist interested in social problems; politician Michael Dukakis; noted American psychologist Karl Menninger; and published criminologists Robert B. Mills and Albert Morris.
