Robert Lowery organized these conferences for the fiftieth anniversary of The Silver Tassie (1978 at Youngstown State University) and the centenary of O’Casey’s birth (1980 at Hofstra University). These subseries contain correspondence between Lowery and participants, including celebrities and friends of O’Casey’s who passed along well-wishes and statements for the conferences. Of special interest are letters from Lillian Gish, Edward Kennedy, Arthur... Miller, and Lynn Redgrave in the Centenary conference correspondence. Materials also include calls for papers, photographs, posters, and programs for the events.
