Dr. Charles Wild account book
Scope and Contents
Bound manuscript ledger of Dr. Charles Wild, documenting the names, visit dates, treatments, and payments of hundreds of patients, from 1818 to 1822. Inserted at end are two leaves from Wild's 1828 ledger. Among Wild's patients are prominent civic leaders, abolitionists, tradesmen, and enslaved and formerly enslaved people. Title page reads: Charles Wild ledger commenced April 10th 1818 Brookline & completed Dec. 31st 1822. Section of title page reading "C. Wild" excised but present (likely used as a book mark). Bound in contemporary quarter leather.
