Boston College was founded in 1863 and opened in 1864 in Boston's South End. The college relocated to Chestnut Hill in 1913. In the 1920s the college began offering graduate programs, which grew during the 1930s-1950s. As both the university's physical space and intellectual offerings expanded, many well-known visitors graced the campus. Their presence is documented in this collection.
