Artwork collected by Paul William Garber and Philip Charles Garber, including 15th-17th century Christian illuminated manuscripts and stained glass, and 19th-20th century Japanese woodblock prints. The Christian art features depictions of the Virgin Mary and King David. The Japanese prints feature landscapes and storytelling scenes.

Biographical note: Philip Charles Garber and Paul William Garber
Philip Charles Garber and Paul William Garber were born in November 1934 to Sarah Rose (Shick) and Rubin E. Garber in Watertown, Massachusetts. They graduated from Boston Latin School in 1952, then received their bachelors degrees from Harvard University in 1956. They attended Harvard Law School, and in 1961 both received their JDs and passed the bar. They practiced law together as Garber & Garber in Brighton, Massachusetts. Paul served as a captain in the United States Navy in the 1960s. In 1974, they volunteered to be Honorary Consuls of Chile, despite not having any previous connections with the country, and served Chileans throughout New England who were unable or unwilling to travel to the Consulate General in New York, and served in this position for over fifty years. Paul Garber died on November 29, 2020.
