Scope and Contents

Manuscript notebook of 56 leaves written in a single hand, comprising texts critical of the Jesuits, including papal letters, contemporary gazettes, and a Spanish translation of Ivan Dominik Stratiko's Orazione funebre recitata in Breslavia nei funerali di Lorenzo Ricci ultimo generale della Compagnia di Gesu. Bound in contemporary limp vellum.

Leaves 1r-10v: Spanish translation of "Orazione funebre recitata in Breslavia nei funerali di Lorenzo Ricci ..."; leaves 10v-11r: "Die 3 de abril de el año 1767 fueron extranador de sus colegio jesuiticos ..."; leaves 11v-12r: "Decreto real para la extracción de los jesuitas de España"; leaves 12r-16v: "Pragmática sanción"; leaves 16v -22v: "Gazetin venido de Bar[celo]na ..."; leaves 22v-26r: "Carta que escrivio el sumo pontifice al monarca Carlos 3o. entre el papa Clemente XIII y el rey Carlos III"; leaves 26r-56v: "Sucesos acaecidos en tiempo de su croistencia ...".

Biographical Note: Andrés Danús

Spanish Catholic priest. Andrés Danús was a Mallorcan priest who studied theology and canon law at the University of Mallorca. He was rector of the parishes of Alaior, Menorca, and Santanyí, Mallorca.

Custodial History

The identity of the compiler or original owner is not known. However, loosely inserted is a two-page manuscript note addressed to Andrés Danús, including a list of names and sums.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Purchased from Libreria de Antano in 2025.

Processing Information

The discoloration on the binding was reviewed by the conservator and deemed not to be mold.
