Predominantly consists of notebooks Lang kept during his time as a creative writing teacher at Bard College and the Corcoran School of Art (renamed The Corcoran College of Art and Design in 1999). The notebooks include poetry written by Lang to be used as an example in class, as well as poetry contributions from his students. Series also includes Lang's graduation speech (1981), photographs, poetry reading event fliers, and publications.
