Biographical note

Thomas F. Ryan, Jr. grew up in Brighton and West Roxbury, Massachusetts. He graduated from the Boston Latin School and Boston College (1963). Ryan worked for IBM as a sales representative (1963-1966), vice president for business development at the Boston Stock Exchange (1966-1968), a variety of roles at Kidder, Peabody Group Inc. (1968-1995), president and chief operating officer of the American Stock Exchange (1995-1999), and director at global life sciences company Repligen Corp (2003-). Ryan was appointed to the Boston College Board of Trustees in 1995.
