Biographical Note
Andy McGann was born in New York City in 1928 to parents who had emigrated from County Sligo. Fiddle player Michael Coleman, a County Sligo emigrant and a family friend, was one of McGann's early musical influences. McGann played fiddle in the Sligo style and in 1958 he cofounded the New York Céilí Band. He performed internationally and recorded and contributed to multiple albums. He was the honorary president of the 1990 CCÉ Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, held in Sligo Town. He died in 2004.

Interviews, 1990 March 26
Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin interviewing festival musicians Johnny McGreevy, Andy McGann, and Johnny Cronin, with a musical interlude by Dale Russ. They interviews include both conversation and performance. They were recorded in the Irish Room of the John J. Burns Library the day after the festival.
