Biographical note

William H. Whitten was born in Biddeford, Maine on September 16, 1838. He married Emily Pritham on November 23, 1865, in Biddeford, Maine. They moved to the Boston area of Massachusetts, where William worked in brick and stone masonry, and was a member of the Freemasons. Emily and William had six children: Ida Jane, Ernest, Agnes, Mary "Mamie", William, Jr., and Susan "Susie". William H. Whitten, Sr., died in 1928.
